About the Project
The RESCUE project team brings together a multi-disciplinary team of environmental scientists, geographers and civil engineers to address the challenge of building climate resilience capacity at the local level in Ireland. The project will develop a Climate Change Adaptation Toolkit that is underpinned by an interdisciplinary climate risk framework, allowing users to consider regional climate projections in conjunction with exposure and vulnerability metrics to understand localised climate risk. Users can consider various options for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and evaluate resilience metrics at the local level. This risk framework will be implemented within a user-centric platform, integrating site-specific climate hazards, and vulnerabilities of the built environment, socio-economic factors, and resilience assessment and mapping, real-time data relating to weather and building performance, scenario modelling in terms of adaptation measures, including cost-benefit analysis, socio-economic and environmental assessments.
